Review Monitor Privacy Policy
For the Review Monitor for Amazon Sellers Chrome extension. Last updated 15 October 2026.
What the extension does
Review Monitor watches the Amazon products you add to it. About once a day, while Chrome is open, it loads the public review pages of those products in the background and compares them with the last check. When a review appears, disappears or comes back, it tells you with a badge, a desktop notification and, if you turn it on, an email.
What stays in your browser
The list of products you watch (Amazon store and ASIN), the review IDs, titles, star ratings and reviewer names it saw on the last check, and the list of recent changes. All of this lives in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer. We do not receive it and have no copy of it.
Remove a product or uninstall the extension and that data is gone.
What goes to Amazon
The extension fetches the review pages of your watched products from the Amazon store you picked, the same way your browser does when you open those pages yourself. Amazon sees a normal page visit from your browser. The extension does not read your orders, Seller Central, account details, payment data or any page other than the review pages of the products you added.
What goes to ListingAudit (only with email alerts on)
Email alerts are part of Seller Monitor Pro. The extension, its badge and its desktop notifications are free. Email alerts stay off until you open your Seller Monitor Pro dashboard with the extension installed. The dashboard then hands the extension a random link token tied to your subscription. When a review changes, the extension sends us the change itself (product title, store, ASIN, change type and the review's title, star rating and reviewer name) together with that token. We use it only to send that email to the address on your subscription.
We store the link token with your subscription, plus a daily count of alert emails (maximum 12 per day). We do not store the review changes after the email is sent. Click "Stop email alerts" in the extension and it stops sending anything.
What the extension never does
It does not track your browsing, show ads, sell or share data, or run analytics. It does not run on any website other than the Amazon review pages of your products and the Seller Monitor Pro page where you connect email alerts. Data is never used for creditworthiness, lending or anything unrelated to review alerts.
Permissions, and why
Storage: to remember your products and the last check. Alarms: to run the daily check. Notifications: to show a desktop alert. Offscreen and scripting: to read the review pages in the background. If Amazon refuses the direct route, the extension opens the review page in a background tab, reads it and closes it again. Amazon sites: to load the review pages. amazonlistingaudit.com: to connect email alerts to your subscription and send the alerts.
