How to Fix a Suppressed Amazon Listing in 2024

Step-by-step guide to finding and fixing suppressed Amazon listings before they cost you sales.

A suppressed listing means Amazon has hidden your product from search results and product pages. Customers cannot find it, and you lose every sale during suppression. The good news: most suppressions are fixable within hours if you know where to look.

Find suppressed listings fast

Go to Seller Central, open the Inventory menu, and select Manage All Inventory. On the left sidebar, click "Suppressed." Amazon will show you every suppressed ASIN in your catalog with a reason code next to each one.

The most common suppression reasons are: missing or non-compliant main image, price outside the acceptable range, missing required attributes for the category, and policy violations. Each has a different fix path.

Image suppressions

Image issues cause roughly 60% of all suppressions. Amazon requires the main image to show the product on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), occupy at least 85% of the image frame, be a minimum of 1000 pixels on the longest side, and contain no watermarks, text overlays, or props.

To fix: go to Edit Listing > Images tab, delete the non-compliant image, upload a replacement meeting all requirements, and save. The listing typically restores within 4-6 hours.

Price suppressions

Amazon flags listings when the price is too high compared to historical sales or other marketplace prices, or when there is no offer price at all. Check your Manage Pricing page. If you see a red flag next to an ASIN, click Edit and verify your price is competitive. Also check that your sale price is lower than the list price if you have both set.

Missing attribute suppressions

Each category has required attributes. Electronics needs voltage and wattage. Apparel needs size, color, and material. Grocery needs ingredients and allergens. Go to Edit Listing, scroll through all tabs, and fill in every blank field with a red asterisk.

After fixing

After you make changes, give Amazon 4-24 hours to process. Check the Suppressed tab again the next day. If the listing is still suppressed despite a correct fix, open a Seller Support case with screenshots of your compliant listing and the suppression notice. Reference the ASIN, the issue, and what you changed.

Prevent future suppressions

Run a quarterly listing audit across your whole catalog. Check images, pricing, and attributes for every ASIN. Set up suppression alert emails in your Account Health settings. Catching a suppression on day one instead of day seven can recover thousands in lost revenue.
