Amazon Listing Suppressed: How to Find It and Fix It Fast
A suppressed Amazon listing disappears from search and cannot sell. Here is how to find suppressed listings, identify the cause, and fix each type fast.
Why Amazon Listings Get Suppressed
Amazon suppresses listings when they fail to meet policy requirements. A suppressed listing does not appear in search results and cannot be purchased. The most common triggers are missing required attributes, policy violations, and quality issues.
Most Common Suppression Reasons
- Missing required attributes: Each category has mandatory fields. Electronics require voltage and wattage. Clothing requires size, color, and material.
- Main image violations: Amazon requires the main image on a white background with no watermarks, no text overlays, and the product must fill at least 85 percent of the frame.
- Title too long or too short: Titles must be between 1 and 200 characters depending on the category. Keyword stuffing can also trigger suppression.
- Restricted keywords: Words like safe, non-toxic, or FDA approved without certification backing will suppress a listing.
- Compliance documents missing: Certain categories require compliance certificates uploaded to Seller Central.
How to Find Suppressed Listings
In Seller Central, go to Inventory, then Manage Inventory. Filter by Inactive (Suppressed). Amazon shows the suppression reason next to each ASIN.
Fixing a Suppressed Listing
For attribute errors: open the listing in Edit Product, complete all required fields, and save. Changes typically take 24-48 hours to go live. For image violations: replace the image with a compliant version and reupload via the Images tab.
