Suppression: Review Velocity Block
Amazon has detected an abnormal spike in reviews for your listing in a short time period. This triggers an automatic review of the listing and a temporary block on new reviews while Amazon investigates for potential review manipulation.
How to detect this suppression
You may notice new reviews stopping abruptly on the listing. Amazon may send a notification. In severe cases, existing reviews may be removed. Voice of Customer in Account Health may flag the ASIN.
Fix steps
- 1Audit all recent review acquisition activities to confirm you have not used any prohibited methods
- 2Check if the review velocity was caused by a legitimate surge (viral social media post, PR mention, or large promotional event)
- 3If from legitimate activity: document the source of the traffic spike (links, promotion dates, influencer posts)
- 4Do not use the Request a Review button excessively during the review period — this may be interpreted as further manipulation
- 5Wait for Amazon's review to conclude (typically 7-14 days)
- 6If reviews were removed incorrectly, contact Seller Support with documentation of legitimate acquisition
Appeal process
Contact Seller Support if legitimate reviews were removed. Provide documentation of the legitimate event that caused the velocity spike. Amazon may or may not restore removed reviews, but typically lifts the block once investigation concludes.
Expected resolution time: 7-21 days
