Suppression: Pricing Error / Price Suppression

Amazon suppresses listings when the price is deemed unreasonably high compared to historical pricing, competitor prices on other channels, or Amazon's own pricing data. The listing shows as "Currently unavailable" even though you have inventory.

How to detect this suppression

In Manage Pricing, look for a flag on the ASIN showing a "Fair Pricing Policy" warning. The suppressed listing will show "0" in Active Offers. Account Health may also show a fair pricing policy flag.

Fix steps

  1. 1Go to Manage Pricing and check for any price health alerts on the ASIN
  2. 2Review the price Amazon considers "fair" using the alert details
  3. 3Check if the same product is listed at a lower price on your own website, Walmart, eBay, or other marketplaces — Amazon compares across channels
  4. 4Adjust your price to be competitive or within Amazon's acceptable range
  5. 5If the price is suppressed due to a reference price issue, verify your list price and current price are both set correctly

Appeal process

Price suppressions resolve automatically when you set a compliant price. There is no formal appeal — adjusting the price and confirming it is within an acceptable range reactivates the listing within a few hours.

Expected resolution time: 2-6 hours
