Suppression: Pesticide or Pest Control Claim

The listing makes claims about killing, repelling, or controlling pests without proper EPA registration. Products claiming pest control efficacy must be registered with the EPA and meet specific labeling requirements.

How to detect this suppression

Listing deactivation with notice from Amazon or Account Health violation. The trigger is typically specific claim language: "kills," "repels," "controls," "eliminates" insects, rodents, or other pests.

Fix steps

  1. 1Remove all pest control claim language from the listing immediately
  2. 2If the product is a legitimately EPA-registered pesticide: upload your EPA Registration Number and product label to Seller Central through the pesticide compliance process
  3. 3For products making organic or "natural" pest repellent claims: even natural claims require EPA registration if they assert pest control efficacy
  4. 4Replace claim language with use-case descriptions that do not assert pest control efficacy
  5. 5Submit corrected listing and POA through Account Health

Appeal process

EPA registration documentation required for pesticide products. Without valid EPA registration, the product cannot make pest control claims and must be repositioned as a non-pesticide product.

Expected resolution time: 3-21 days
