A brand owner or buyer has reported that your product is counterfeit — an unauthorized copy or replica of a trademarked product. This is among the most serious violations on Amazon and can lead to permanent account suspension.

How to detect this suppression

Account Health > Intellectual Property Violations > Counterfeit. The listing is immediately deactivated. Amazon sends an email with the brand owner's complaint details.

Fix steps

  1. 1Do not attempt to relist the product while the counterfeit report is active
  2. 2Gather your entire supply chain documentation: supplier invoices, authorization letters, import records
  3. 3Determine whether you genuinely purchased legitimate product (and the complaint is wrong) or if your supplier provided counterfeit goods
  4. 4If genuine product: compile documentation proving authenticity (invoices from brand-authorized distributor, GS1 barcode ownership)
  5. 5If supplier issue: cease purchasing from that supplier, document your supplier termination, create a removal order for current FBA inventory
  6. 6Prepare a comprehensive POA with all documentation

Rigorous POA required with full supply chain documentation. Amazon's counterfeit enforcement team reviews these cases. Multiple appeal attempts with increasing documentation detail are often required.
