Fix Amazon Stranded Inventory: A Step-by-Step Resolution Guide

How to find all your stranded FBA inventory in Seller Central and resolve each stranded reason type quickly.

Stranded inventory is FBA stock with no active listing that buyers can purchase. You are paying storage fees on inventory Amazon cannot sell. Go to Seller Central > Inventory > Fix Stranded Inventory (or search "stranded inventory" in the Seller Central search bar). For each stranded ASIN, Amazon shows a stranded reason. Resolution steps by stranded reason type: "Listing closed" — the listing was manually closed while inventory remained. Click "Relist" to reopen the listing. "Price missing" — no price is set. Go to Manage Pricing and set a price for the ASIN. "Blocked by Account Health violation" — the listing is suspended due to a policy violation. Go to Account Health, find the violation, and follow the resolution process. "Category restriction added" — a category you were selling in has become gated. Apply for category approval through Add Products > Apply to sell. "Deleted" — the listing was deleted. You must recreate the listing and ensure the FNSKU on the physical inventory matches the new listing. "Listing under review" — Amazon is reviewing the listing for compliance reasons. Wait 24-48 hours; contact Seller Support if it persists. "No sales channel" — the ASIN is not assigned to the correct fulfillment channel. Edit the listing and ensure FBA is selected as the fulfillment option. After resolving the stranded reason, the inventory typically becomes active within 24 hours. For inventory with irreparable stranded reasons (deleted ASIN with matching inventory you cannot relist), create a removal order to retrieve the inventory before storage fees accumulate further.
