How to Sell on Amazon US from Outside the United States

What international sellers need to set up a US Amazon seller account, bank account, and fulfill orders from overseas.

Selling on Amazon.com (US marketplace) from outside the United States is possible and common. Here is what you need: seller account requirements: you need a valid business entity (most countries' business structures are accepted), a phone number, a government-issued ID, bank account information for receiving payments, and a credit card for fees. Amazon has an International Seller Registration flow for accounts based outside the US. Bank account: Amazon pays out in USD. You can receive payments in a US bank account (you can open one remotely through services like Payoneer, Wise, or Mercury without visiting the US). These accounts are accepted by Amazon as payout methods. Tax: non-US sellers must complete a W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E form for Amazon's tax reporting. Some marketplaces require VAT or sales tax registration depending on your sales volume. Fulfillment options: FBA is strongly recommended for international sellers -- you ship inventory to Amazon US warehouses once (air or sea freight) and Amazon handles all US fulfillment. This is far more practical than shipping individual orders from overseas. Alternatively, use a US-based 3PL to receive your inventory and fulfill FBM orders. Currency: you can sell in USD without a US bank account using services like Payoneer or Wise, which convert USD to your local currency.
