How to Fix: Low Quality Images

Why this happens

Images below 1000 pixels on the longest side, blurry, pixelated, or taken with a phone camera without proper lighting. Supplier images are a frequent culprit — they may meet minimum requirements but not convert well.

Step-by-step fix

  1. 1Identify all images below 1600px (ideal) or 1000px (minimum)
  2. 2Commission new photography at 2000x2000px minimum, JPEG format, sRGB color space
  3. 3For the main image: pure white background (RGB 255,255,255), product filling 85%+ of the frame
  4. 4For supplemental images: include at least one lifestyle shot, one infographic, and one close-up of key features
  5. 5Upload new images via Edit Listing > Images tab
  6. 6Delete old low-quality images from each slot

Prevention tips

  • Set image resolution standards (minimum 2000x2000px) in your supplier brief for any product launch
  • Review all images at 100% zoom before uploading to catch blur and compression artifacts
  • Test click-through rate monthly — dropping CTR often signals image quality issues
Typical fix time: 1-5 days (photography dependent)
