Amazon enforces different title character limits by category. The general limit is 200 characters, but many categories enforce stricter limits: Clothing and Accessories (80 characters for mobile display), Electronics (200 characters), Books (200 characters), Grocery (200 characters), Baby Products (80-100 characters). Amazon may truncate titles that exceed limits in search results, even if the full title is accepted during upload. Best practice: write the most important information (brand, product type, key attribute) within the first 80 characters — that is what appears on mobile search results and on the search results page for most categories. The remaining characters are visible on the product detail page. Do not pad titles to hit the character limit — write only what helps buyers and search ranking.
